Did you always want to contribute to science? Would you like to personally contribute to the scientific process? Would you like your name acknowledged in scientific publications? Dr. Eshel Faraggi grew up with a strong desire to understand the world with the tools of physics, mathematics, and computer science; creatively seeking further understanding of Nature. He completed a joint mathematics and physics program at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, before coming to the United States to pursue his doctorate in physics. He completed this at the University of Texas at Austin, with a dissertation on two-dimensional ferromagnetism. Transitioning to biophysics, he moved his family to Miami, Florida where he focused on laser absorption by the melanosome and other absorbing systems at Florida International University. At the end of 2006, they moved to the University of Indiana and Dr. Faraggi began research on protein structure. He has co-authored over fifty publications on these and other topics.
