Data Analysis Questions. Do the following in your lab report. _____________________________________________________________

1. Graph V vs. I on a separate graph each resisting device in circuit 1: (steps 3-7). Find the slopes of the linear parts of these graphs. Compare these values to the ones found in step 1 (in procedure). Which of the devices is OHMIC? why?

2. Make a table from your data, of the POWER vs. CURRENT^2. Graph this. Are these graphs similar to the previous ones (step 1 here)? Why or why not?

3. Find the RESISTANCE for each resistor from the measured values of the VOLTAGE and CURRENT: (steps 8-13). Compare these values to the ones you recorded in step 1.

4. Calculate Req for circuits 2-3. (Equations 3&4)

5. Find the total RESISTANCE-Rt of each circuit. It is given by :

Rt = Vps / I
(Ohms' Law)

where,

I - the current through the power supply

Vps - the voltage across the power supply.

6. Compare the value of Rt to Req. Comment on your answer.
