FA W/ GENERAL Q.

Subject: FAQ1,

Dear Eschel (PLEASE NOTE: MY NAME IS ESHEL NOT ESCHEL),

On Wednesday I have two tests, a paper due and our quiz back to back. I have been preparing for this big test week, but without time to review between any of my classes I do not see myself doing my best. Is there any way that I may take our quiz during Thursday's lab period?

Sincerely, Sheldon

A: All such questions should be dealt with in advance and more importantly in person. If any of you feel they deserve special consideration please contact me at least a week before and in person. Usually I don't admit late quizzes. good grade you're relevant score will be a B. instead of an A. esehl

Subject: Re: Quiz #1, Eshel,

Could you possibly include with the formula sheet on the quiz a copy of the unit conversion table in the front of the physics text? It is very helpful to many of us to be able to check our work using dimensional analysis, and electromagnetism introduces a whole bunch of new units, really too many to keep straight, as far as their SI and derived SI equivalents go. I hope you will agree to this, as this table will not 'give away' any answers, but will simply help us to check our work and make better grades.

Oh, by the way, in regards to your latest email, how, on any grading scale, can a 'perfect score' be a B relative to another 'perfect score'. I have heard of grading systems, although grossly unfair, that may only give A's to the top 10% of scorers, whether they made 90's or 99's, but that still does not allow two perfect scores to make different grades. Not that I'm planning to cheat, mind you, I'm just curious :) .

************ It's pretty simple, if all of you get 90% on the quiz then all of you will get a B. If there is a distribution then some will get an A and some B's and C's. This is not my private grading system but the one you have been graded with through out you're studies, even in high-school! As for the equation sheet, I think it is a good idea but a little late for this quiz. Maybe you can show me the information you want to add and I will add it to the sheet before the next exams. In fact if any one else thinks there are important stuff that should be on the equation sheet please come see me.
